Interpretation of analyzes
Deciphering tests is an important diagnostic measure, without which it is impossible to establish a correct diagnosis. If the test results obtained are not deciphered correctly, this may lead to incorrect treatment and, accordingly, a negative impact on the patient’s body. That is why, in order to eliminate such misunderstandings, the best specialists decipher the tests in our medical center.Deciphering analyzes consists of correctly justifying certain indicators, be it UAC, OAM, or some other analysis. For example, you should know that an increase in a blood test such as ESR above normal indicates the presence of an inflammatory process in the body. By linking these data with clinical data and complaints with which the patient goes to the doctor, it is possible to make an accurate diagnosis and prescribe specific therapy. That is why accurate and correct interpretation of tests is of great diagnostic importance in medicine.

Preparing for tests
1. Blood test.
This is the most common and revealing medical analysis. You can donate blood from a finger or from a vein, it doesn’t matter, but before taking them there are several uniform preparation rules.
Blood tests that are recommended to be taken “on an empty stomach”: - biochemical - glucose, cholesterol, bilirubin, etc. - serological tests - syphilis, hepatitis B, hormones, etc. “Fasting” is when there is a period between the last meal and taking blood from a vein. at least 8 hours (preferably about 12 hours). Juice, tea, coffee, incl. with sugar, not allowed. You can drink still water. It is advisable to exclude fatty, fried and alcohol from the diet 1 - 2 days before the examination.
When taking blood tests for the hormonal profile in women of reproductive age (from approximately 13 to 14 years of age until menopause), their results are influenced by physiological factors associated with the phases of the menstrual cycle. Therefore, when preparing for examination for the hormones FSH, LH, prolactin, progesterone, estradiol, 17-OH-progesterone, androstenedione, inhibin, AMH, the day of the cycle should be indicated. When conducting a test for sex hormones, strictly adhere to the recommendations of your gynecologist regarding the day of the monthly cycle on which this test is required. Blood should not be donated on the day after an x-ray, rectal examination, or physical therapy procedures or sports competitions.
2. What blood tests are not anonymous?
In a number of clearly specified cases, the laboratory will ask you for your last name, first name, patronymic, and date of birth - without these data, the research results will be considered invalid. You need to take a blood test indicating your passport data for hospitalization in a hospital, before surgery, at the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation, and in some other places. You can take an urgent blood test every day from 10-00 to 12-00.
3. Testing for infections.
Tests from the genital organs are taken directly by the doctor in the office and determine diseases that are transmitted intimately. Before taking a smear from the urethra (urethra), men are advised to abstain from sexual intercourse for 2-3 days, wash before taking it and not urinate for 2-3 hours. The female smear requires similar rules: abstinence, washing and refusal to urinate. Also, the day before your visit to the laboratory, do not insert vaginal suppositories. Collection of secretions for laboratory diagnostics from women and virgin girls performed by an experienced and good specialist is a quick and painless procedure.
To obtain reliable results, medical tests to identify pathogens of bacterial infections should best be taken no earlier than 1-1.5 weeks after the last use of antibacterial drugs. The collection of scrapings for PCR diagnostics from women and men, as well as teenage girls, is carried out throughout the entire working day of the clinic.

Get tested. The Hemotest medical laboratory performs blood tests for ESR, reticulocytes, complete blood count (CBC) with and without leukocyte count (venous and capillary blood).
UAC without leukocyte formula
A general clinical blood test is a mandatory blood test, which is primarily prescribed by the attending physician. For preventive purposes, you can take this blood test yourself. In the Hemotest Laboratory, both an extended blood test and a General blood test without leukocyte formula are performed (code according to form 3.1.1.).
Based on the results, it is determined:
- hemoglobin concentration;
- number and volume of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets;
- hematocrit value;
- mean distribution width and erythrocyte volume (MCV);
- average concentration and volume of hemoglobin in erythrocytes (MCH);
- color index (CP).
A clinical blood test allows you to assess the general condition of the hematopoietic system, diagnose autoimmune and anemic conditions, and determine the presence of an inflammatory process. Almost all changes in the body are immediately reflected in the qualitative and quantitative composition of the blood. This is why a general blood test or, as it is commonly called, a clinical blood test plays such a huge role in diagnosing most diseases and monitoring their course.
How to prepare:
On the eve of the blood test, avoid fatty, heavy foods, alcohol and physical activity. The biomaterial is taken on an empty stomach, from 8 to 11 am. You can drink water. It is not advisable to take a general blood test while taking medications; if you cannot refuse them, be sure to inform your doctor about this. Detailed recommendations on how to prepare for a blood test are presented on the website in the “Preparing for blood tests” section.
KBC expanded with leukocyte formula and reticulocytes
Along with the main parameters of a clinical blood test, the following values are revealed:
- percentage of eosinophils, basophils, monocytes and lymphocytes, immature granulocytes, neutrophils and normoblasts;
- index of young forms of erythrocytes (reticulocytes), with determination of fractions and hemoglobin content.
How to prepare:
Taking biomaterial for an extended general blood test with leukocyte formula and reticulocytes (code according to form 3.4.) is carried out only from venous blood, on an empty stomach. Avoid fatty foods the day before. If necessary, you can take a blood test in the afternoon or evening, but not earlier than 4-5 hours after eating.
Leukocyte formula
When testing blood for a leukogram (code according to form 3.5.1.), neutrophils, eosinophils, monocytes, lymphocytes and basophils are counted in smears of biomaterial. The formula is of great importance in the diagnosis of infectious, hematological and inflammatory diseases. In some cases, this blood test helps to identify serious pathologies in time.
How to prepare:
1-2 days before the blood test, eliminate fats from your diet; at least 4-5 hours before the blood test, refuse food. It is better to take it on an empty stomach, in the morning.
Reticulocyte test
Based on the results of blood tests for reticulocytes (code according to form 3.6.1.), one can judge the ability of the bone marrow to regenerate and reproduce red blood cells. Indications for the study are diagnosis of metastases, hypoxia, anemia, assessment of hematopoiesis, monitoring of T-suppressor therapy.
How to prepare:
The recommendations are the same as for a general blood test - avoid eating at least 4-5 hours before the test, avoid fatty foods, alcohol and heavy exercise. General rules apply to all tests, but note that some tests require special preparation and additional restrictions.
Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR)
A general blood test determines most specific parameters. ESR refers to nonspecific indicators that depend on changes in the protein composition of the biomaterial, the shape and volume of red blood cells. An increase in ESR (code according to form 3.3.1.) is characteristic of developing inflammatory processes, allergies, collagenosis, neoplasms, and pregnancy. A decrease is an indicator of ineffective hematopoiesis, viral hepatitis, and impaired hemostasis.
How to prepare:
A blood test for ESR is performed on an empty stomach. For one or two days, eliminate everything fried and fatty, give up alcohol and, if possible, take medications.
