The combat menu is a convenient way to communicate with allies in battle, in those moments when there is no time to write a message in the chat. In fact, most of the communication between allies can take place using these commands. We present to your attention a mod that allows you to customize the combat menu.
The standard combat menu can be called up by pressing and holding the "Z" button. Commands are selected with the mouse or a button on the keyboard. The standard set is very limited: "Defend the base!", "That's right!", "No way!" and other simple messages with which you can explain to allies in various situations what you want from them.
Despite the universality of the wording, the meaning of these commands is not obvious in all situations. In addition, for different types of equipment it is often required to transmit different information with the same commands.
A mod for a customizable combat menu allows you to "refine" existing commands. It also adds an additional menu using the Alt + Z button. The screenshot below shows a customized combat menu from ProTanki for artillery:
The standard commands for the F4-F8 buttons are left unchanged. Message "Attack!" tied to the F2 button, added commands to the F3 and F9-F12 buttons, i.e. all "functional" keys are involved, with the exception of F1, which is linked to the display of tooltips for commands in battle. The following screenshot shows the main menu for artillery, which is displayed by pressing the Z button after installing the mod:
When playing artillery, these teams noticeably help to coordinate their actions with allies, by reducing the time for explanations and negotiations. When pointing at an enemy, the menu changes:
The modification changes the quick command menu called by the Z key. Seriousness has been replaced with jokes and now, after killing the enemy, you can troll by sending him automatic messages.
Modification features
- A similar mod has been published on our site for a long time, it is called "", but it has serious differences. The most important thing is the automatic sending of a message after the frag, but here there is more variability, the player has freedom of choice, for example, you can choose the subject of the message and the addressee, that is, you can troll not only enemies, but also allies.
- Three modes of operation, as in the standard command menu. The first is activated when the sight is not aimed at anyone, the second when aiming at the enemy, and the third turns on when the sight is looking at an ally. Thanks to this, the author was able to add different messages for different modes, corresponding to the addressee.
I will advise only one thing - do not abuse the mod's capabilities, the chat is not a place for spam, so know when to stop, you do not need to distract the players too much, because the messages will be read not only by enemies, but also by allies.
How is the mod installed?
- Copy the configs folder to \World_of_Tanks\mods\. Copy the remaining folders and files to World of Tanks\mods\1.4.
In WoT battles, you can often see phrases like “Gentlemen, it’s time to take the enemy’s base” or “Don’t prop it up” or something along the lines of “Are you transparent? Stand back, I'm hitting right through" this is nothing more than a mod for the game. This mod is called "Custom Combat Menu". What is a customizable combat menu or as it is often called a chamomile of commands for the World Of Tanks online game and how to set it up, read in this article.
Customizable combat menu
... and what it is eaten with ...
Where to download first?
Well, there is no definite answer here, everyone downloads to their taste, either a mod pack which includes this mod, or a separate Custom Menu mod and installs it according to the instructions.
The name of this mod speaks for itself, that's just why no one sets it up hmm ..?! Maybe deer?? Or crabs??? Yes nah…. they just can't
Well, let's learn...
We need a file RadialMenu.xml. You can find it along the way: your computer:\your drive\WorldOfTanks\res_mods\current client version\scripts\client\gui\scaleform\ or somewhere deeper, depending on whether you installed a mod pack or a separate mod. (in my case, it was a mod pack and the RadialMenu.xml file was deeper). If you cannot find this file, then use the standard Windows search.
Next, open it with our favorite notepad Notepad++. It is with this program that it is desirable to open all mod files, because. it does not change the file encoding. If you do not have it installed, then download, for example from here or from the official site, well, or from the Yandex disk and install.
Opening a file RadialMenu.xml we see a lot of obscure text… hmm… but we want to learn how to edit the customizable combat menu, so let's look further. Let's take these lines as an example:
Aha… something is already looming…
The tags contain the name of the team.
In the tag - there is an icon displayed with the command rose.
I hope you don't need to explain the tags?
Command (macro) %(randpart)s do not touch, this is the command (macro) of the great Chinese random 😉 which (th) displays a random command enclosed in tags.
But everything that is written between the tags can be changed to your taste.
Tags - display mode or write to the command team or everyone All.
Valid icon names:
[ 'Attack', 'Yes', 'Helpme', 'Backtobase', 'No', 'Reload',
'Followme', 'Turnback', 'Helpmeex', 'Stop', 'Support', 'AttackSPG' ]
Valid command names:
[ 'ATTACK', 'ATTACKENEMY', 'BACKTOBASE', 'FOLLOWME', 'HELPME', 'HELPMEEX',
'NEGATIVE', 'POSITIVE', 'RELOADINGGUN' 'STOP', 'SUPPORTMEWITHFIRE', 'TURNBACK']
Macros supported in the message text:
%(name)s - the name of the player whose tank is aimed at
%(vehicle)s — vehicle type name
%(clan)s - clan name
%(viewPos)s - the square where the camera is pointing
%(ownPos)s - square where own tank is located
%(randpart)s - random string from the list in the tag
%(reload)s - remaining gun reload time, in seconds
%(ammo)s - the number of unused shells in the drum
For example, how one of the commands I have redone:
This is a mod that allows you to customize the standard command rose. You can replace the phrases contained in the menu with your own, with support for substituting player names, types of vehicles, and even squares of the mini-map at which the camera is directed. You can also specify whether to send the phrase to the general chat, or only to your team.
Standard commands combined with F2-F8 hotkeys continue to work as before.
There is a menu mode in which commands are set with reference to the map. They are automatically loaded when they hit a specific map. This mode is called by pressing the left alt + button to show the radial menu (by default z).
There is also a separate configuration for artillery.
The configuration file is called RadialMenu.xml and is located along the path res_mods\0.8.3\scripts\client\gui\Scaleform\
The sections TankMenu and SPGMenu provide the following sections:
CommonCommands - common commands when the sight is not aimed at anyone;
TeamCommands - messages to your friends (when the sight is on an allied tank);
EnemyCommands - similar for opponents.
If the section is not found in the SPGMenu section, then it is loaded from the tank section. That is, if there is no TeamCommands in the SPGMenu section, then on art, when you hover over your own, the tank menu will be loaded.
CUSTOMIZATION FOR VARIOUS MAPS
MapCommands - a section that contains commands associated with the map. Calling this menu is left alt + button showing radial menu (by default z).
This section contains sections with a name corresponding to the game names of the cards. The map name is written with the "Map_" prefix, i.e. under Malinovka (02_malinovka) section name "Map_02_malinovka".
Full list of maps in 0.8.1:
01_karelia 02_malinovka 03_campania 04_himmelsdorf 05_prohorovka 06_ensk 07_lakeville 08_ruinberg 10_hills 11_murovanka 13_erlenberg 14_siegfried_line 15_komarin 17_munchen 18_cliff 19_monastery 22_slough 23_westfeld 28_desert 29_el_hallouf 31_airfield 33_fjord 34_Redshire 35_steppes 36_fishing_bay 37_caucasus 38_mannerheim_line 39_crimea 42_north_america 44_north_america 45_north_america 47_canada_a 51_asia
Also, there is a Map_Default section, which is loaded if there is no config for this map. It can be considered as an addition to the general section of the menu.
