How to whistle with two fingers? Whistle with two fingers
Passing through a narrow opening, the air makes a high-pitched sound, which we call whistling. Artistic, shimmering with intonations; loud, attracting attention; quiet, soothing, it evokes conflicting emotions. Some listeners freeze in admiration, listening to the sounding notes, others become irritated or nervous. How to learn to whistle and how can these skills be useful in life? Conveying emotions, feelings, and sometimes entire phrases, whistling helps relieve nervous tension, warn of danger, and express one’s own “I.”
How to learn to whistle loudly
Mastering the whistling technique is easy, however, it will take time and constant practice. Remember how a couple of decades ago almost every street boy could whistle with or without hands. And what was it worth to whistle admiringly after the first beauty of the yard! Times are changing, and now the ability to whistle is often perceived as bad manners.
However, there are situations when a loud, sharp whistle, warning of an unusual, dangerous situation, becomes the only possible way to convey information. This is where practical knowledge and whistling skills come in handy (you must admit, you won’t carry a whistle with you everywhere). Let's look at the basic techniques that are used to learn whistling.
With two fingers
Before learning to make a whistling sound with your fingers in your mouth, wash your hands with soap to prevent infection. Press your lips tightly against your teeth, hiding them inside. Use 2 fingers of one hand (thumb and index or thumb and middle) in a V shape, or the index fingers of both hands. Fix your lips tightly against your teeth so that the edges of the nail plate “look” at the center of the tongue.
There should be at least a centimeter of distance between it and the teeth. Without pressing your tongue against the roof of your mouth, the bottom of your mouth, or your front teeth, inhale deeply and begin blowing it out without changing the position of your hands and lips. Constant training will help you quickly learn this method, and you can not only theoretically, but also in practice show your friends how to whistle with two fingers.
No fingers
Pursing your lips into a tube and placing your tongue behind the front teeth of the upper jaw, gradually blow the air out of your lungs. This soft, melodic sound, produced without hands, is used in psychology and psychiatry as a means of relieving physical stress, and in some countries of Europe and Central America, the habit of whistling is a form of greeting friends or internal self-expression.
Learning to whistle loudly without fingers is more difficult. Using a similar system, as in the case of two fingers, you will have to fix the position of the lips without hands. Having pushed the lower jaw forward, the lower lip should fit tightly around the teeth, covering them completely. While blowing air, try to determine the position of your tongue that is comfortable for you, which produces a loud whistle.
Whistling technique
Artistic whistling is a rare type of musical direction, the skill of which people learn for many years, attending music schools and conservatories. Learning to make magical, bewitching sounds of nature, whistling like a bird, repeating the whisper of sea waves or the sound of rain, is helped by constant exercise, the structural features of the palate, and talent. The most famous star of the 19th century, Alice Shaw, whistled classical works, gathering full houses, while the tonality of the sound fluctuated within two octaves.
№04:
whistle shrilly
A fast, loud, high-pitched whistle can be helpful in many situations. For those of you who don’t know how to whistle like that, but want to learn, this lesson is written. (Note: we are not talking about whistles, pipes and other devices.)
Two methods are demonstrated here: Using fingers, and Without them. Let's say you need to catch a car. It's raining outside and your hands are busy. Then you can use the No Finger Whistle to attract interest.
Before you get down to business.
If you basically don’t know how to whistle (besides pursing your lips), then first learn the method Using your fingers. Many are sure that it is lighter.
If you have specifically set aside time for training (and we recommend this), then wash your hands first. You will still need to put your fingers in your mouth.
Method 1: Using your fingers
Move 1: Curl your lips
First of all, your upper and lower lips should completely cover your teeth and be tucked inside your mouth. Only the very edges of the lips will be able to protrude outward.
Move 2. Select racesfinger
The purpose of the fingers is to hold the lips over the teeth. Experiment with the finger combinations below and see what works best for you. The best option depends on the size of your fingers and mouth. Regardless of the choice, the placement of the fingers is the same: approximately halfway from the edge of the mouth to its center and pushed through to the first knuckle. (Again, this may vary depending on the size of your mouth and fingers.)
The following options are available:
- U-shaped the shape is created by the huge and middle, or the huge and index fingers of either hand.
While you put your fingers in, check the following:
1) The nails should be directed inward, towards the center of the tongue, and not straight; and besides that 2) your fingers should press your lip very firmly.
Move 3. Remove your tongue
Now - the most important thing.
- Put your tongue back so that the tip of the tongue almost touches the bottom. Distance to lower anterior teeth
1cm. This will make the tip of the tongue wider, covering a huge surface.
Steps 3 and 4 are performed virtually simultaneously. Take a huge breath and exhale through your mouth. Experiment with placement of your fingers and tongue.
- Start with a light blow. The result will be a quiet, low-pitched whistle, but there will be enough air for a long time.
- While you're blowing, try to find with your tongue the desired point. This is a place of great volume whistling; at a time when the airspace hits the sharpest part bevel. The result should be a piercing, clear sound with a constant timbre, and not a soft whistle that comes and goes.
Method 2: No fingers
Whistling Without Fingers is a natural extension of whistling with fingers. In the previous Method, you pressed your lip with your fingers. for now, it will be necessary to do without them. Instead of fingers, it is necessary to use the muscles of the lips and jaw.
Move 1: Curl your lips
- Pull out your lower jaw and tighten the corners of your mouth. The lower teeth should not be visible, but the upper teeth will be able to show easily.
Move 2. Remove your tongue
This is the most important stage.
- Put your tongue back so that it floats in your mouth. The distance to the lower front teeth is less than when whistling with fingers.
Steps 2 and 3 are performed simultaneously.
- Take a deep breath and exhale - the air space will go under the tongue, then through the space between the teeth and tongue, and out through the mouth. Experiment with the position of your tongue and the angle of your jaw, and the force of your exhalation.
- Listen to sounds: In the beginning, you will only get the sound of air escaping from the car chamber. But after this a clear whistle will break through. When this happens, consider that you can hail any car or dog in the area.
There are many situations in life in which a loud and clear whistle is a very good and even necessary skill, which, however, not everyone has. For example, using a whistle you can quickly and effectively attract the attention of a crowd when shouting to everyone is not entirely realistic.
In addition, psychologists have long proven that whistling, like screaming loudly, is a good opportunity to get rid of accumulated negative energy or depression. If you feel that your soul is heavy, just go out onto the balcony or into a desert area and whistle loudly. You will be surprised how much your feelings will change for the better after such a simple technique.
How to quickly learn to whistle loudly and loudly? After all, this skill is not taught at school or in any courses, and in childhood, not everyone learned the basics of this unusual science. Let's say right away that the first time, even if you put your lips and tongue together according to all the rules, you are unlikely to be able to make a loud, good whistle; this requires training and dexterity.
If you don’t know how to whistle at all, even very quietly, then you need to first learn simple but effective methods. To do this, fold the lips into a tube, move the tongue a little towards the upper teeth, and then try to blow out some air, while making at least some sound. Experiment with the position of the tongue and the diameter of the labial “tube” and pretty soon you will still hear a quiet result.
Using your fingers
To make the sound sharp and loud, you can learn to whistle with your fingers, for this you will have to put them in your mouth, which means you should wash your hands first. Next we follow a certain sequence of actions:
- We tuck the lips: the upper and lower halves should press tightly against the teeth and actually close them.
- Now the fingers: they should, as it were, hold the lips in a curved position, and you need to choose the most convenient combination of them. Usually they use the thumb and index finger, folding them into a small semicircle or using them to draw something like the letter “V”. You can use your right and left index fingers (that is, two hands will be involved). In this case, the nails should be directed towards the center of the tongue, and the fingers can enter the mouth almost up to the first joint.
- Now the tongue: you need to move it back a little so that its tip almost touches the bottom. The distance from the tip to the front upper teeth is about one centimeter, which will allow air to quickly slide between the tongue and the upper teeth.
- Now the finale: we inhale and exhale through the mouth, but nothing may work the first time. To achieve success, vary the placement of your fingers and tongue in your mouth.
No fingers
Sometimes it is very convenient to be able to whistle loudly without using your fingers - it is hygienic and not so difficult. So, the sequence of actions:
- We push the lower jaw forward a little, while slightly pulling the corners of the lips, cover the lower teeth tightly with the lip again, and the upper ones may even show slightly. If you can’t immediately press your lower lip, you can help yourself with your hands.
- Now the tongue: move it back a little, while its tip should point upward, but not rest against the palate or front teeth.
- Now we take a deep breath again and blow it out forcefully, trying to make a sound. As we have already said, it rarely works the first time, so you need to practice again and again, changing the positions of your tongue and jaws.
With this method, you must use the lower jaw, lips and tongue, or rather, press the latter down so that it does not interfere. So, take the starting position: the lower jaw is pushed forward, the lower lip is tightly stretched on it, covering the lower teeth, the corners of the mouth are pulled back and up. What to do with the tongue? Its tip should be pulled back a little and pressed down. It is very important to find the correct tongue position.
From my own experience, I know that it may not work right away, but that’s okay, the main thing is to know the technique and then adapt. After all, the one who advises has tried it on himself, and each of us has an individual mouth structure, a different bite, jaw structure, and lip position. In general, to learn how to whistle, when you are ready, take more air into your lungs and blow, that is, whistle. I assure you that once you get it, your whistle will never be forgotten, it’s like learning to ride a bicycle. Awareness comes immediately and forever.
how to learn to whistle on your fingers
It’s easier to learn to whistle on your fingers, as I already said. The main memorable position in this case is the angle of spread of the fingers and the tongue, curled up, held by them at its very base or in the middle. You kind of fold it in half, and at the same time your lips are wrapped inside your mouth and pressing your fingers. This is the main thing, the rest are variations.
You can learn to whistle using one hand. In this case, the thumb will always be present. The rest can be alternated as you wish, but more often the thumb and forefinger are used. You can learn to whistle using both hands. In this case, the corresponding fingers of each hand are placed in the mouth in pairs. For example, both index, ring, middle or little fingers.
By the way, on the little fingers the whistle is the thinnest and most piercing. So, take the starting position, place your fingers in your mouth correctly, draw more air into your lungs, and whistle. What, all that came out was a loud hiss? Don’t despair, here you also need to get used to it, practice with the angle of your fingers, this is the main principle of success, and of course, press your tongue curled up tighter. Maybe, depending on the internal structure of your mouth, you will need to turn up only the tip of your tongue, or maybe half.
Every guy dreams of learning to whistle - just like throwing a knife or fishing with a spear. The activity, in fact, is completely useless, but, damn it, how interesting and attractive it is! Anyone who knows how to play a dashing “two-fingered whistle” arouses constant envy among those around him: a scoundrel like him, eh!
Many of you have repeatedly tried to learn this most difficult (actually not) trick on your own. One try, two, failure and the decision to definitely succeed next time. Forget about failures. We have compiled a detailed set of simple rules that will teach any person how to play a dashing whistle in just an hour.
Tongue, lips and fingers
Correctly folded fingers are half the success. The combination serves two purposes: keeping your tongue in the correct position and keeping your lips firmly pressed against your teeth. A recessed tongue and pursed lips will create the necessary angle that will maintain the sound level as you blow. Now we will show you two of the simplest and most effective combinations.
One hand
All you need to do is put your fingers together as if you are showing an OK sign. You can use your thumb and index finger, or thumb and middle finger. The result will be the same. So, press your lips to your teeth, move your tongue a little deeper into your throat, fix it with two fingers and just blow. Yes, it won’t work out right away. The first attempts will probably make even your closest friends (especially your close friends!) laugh out loud, but we'll see what they say after half an hour.
With two hands
This method is more complicated, but the result is cooler. The middle and index fingers on each hand are together and extended, all the others are pressed tightly. From the outside, the whole figure looks a bit like the letter “A”. Whistling this way is much louder.
Push
With your fingers in your mouth (no matter in what position), keeping the tip of your tongue raised and your lips pressed against your teeth, take care that there are no gaps between your fingers and the edges of your lips. Try to blow gently, no need for excessive force. It will probably take you a while to understand the concept of hand placement. The main thing is not to give up the whole idea halfway, because you are almost there.
Practice
Keep working until you get results. Forty minutes were enough for us - during this time the secretary chose to leave the editorial office, and the local cat jumped out of the window - well, four floors under its keel. The feeling when you get the first whistle is incomparable to anything and is certainly worth some kind of cat. However, we recommend that you practice completely alone. To avoid industrial injuries, so to speak.
